    OUR HISTORY

Shelly’s house was incorporated in 1995 and is ran by an all-volunteer board of directors. Our board is compiled of active members in the community from several social classes. Our 5,000 square feet, two story house plus basement and five small, attached apartments can accommodate up to 17 (beds) women with a transitional model of communal living. Our transitional model outlines the necessary skills needed to become self-efficient and self-supporting as clients transition from the house to one of our five onsite apartment settings. Shelly’s House is non-profit. Our income is generated through first-month lodging subsidy, residents finding employment to pay living expenses, grants, gifts, and donations. Over the years of operation our house provides housing for an average of forty women a year.
